Time
for Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup and the letter is A and Architecture. Only one image today and it was taken some years AGO when I visited my family in AUSTRALIA. it is the opera House in Sydney. The ARTITECT was Jorn Utzon. There is an ARTISTIC Strategy 2018-2021 which makes it clear that Performing
ARTS at the Opera House has a commitment to excellence in everything they do
and a mandate for creativity, engagement and entertainment. They want audiences
to be challenged, delighted, intrigued, thrilled, informed and entertained.
Most of all, they want their Opera House experience to take them out of the
ordinary and into the extraordinary. The REFLECTION is AWESOME in blue.
Just another
little snippet of information. ARNOLD Schwarzenegger (former ACTO|R and Governor of California) won his final Mr
Olympia body building title in 1980 in the Concert Hall.
I APPRECIATE your visit and comments.
I may not be able to comments as much as usual as
I seem to be busier with my many groups so that no one gets cabin fever, so I
hope you understand that.
Difficult times for everyone so stay safe.
Wow, a gorgeous picture. The building is a work of art.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the occasion which warranted the blue colour?
ReplyDeleteI do not know what this occasion was as we stumbled upon it. Do you see in front of the Opera House, there is the ful orchestra playing and there were hundred of people about. I did try finding up about this but on web the records go back 10 years and every year 1 organisation is asked to design the lighting for the Opera House for 1 night, it is worth looking up. Some of the designs are amazing. Certainly the blue light would have been there to celebrate something or someone.
DeleteIt's wonderful. I wonder if it would get built today... Culture seems to be on the back burner most places.
ReplyDeleteAmazing architecture!
ReplyDelete1980? So long ago.
Pretty reflection photo! Enjoy your day, happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of this iconic Opera House. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour photo of the Sydney Opera House is impressive Margaret, great shot!
ReplyDeleteThat is a most recognizable structure as well as beautiful .
ReplyDeleteMargaret, that such a pretty picture with the blue lighted roof and the bluish Reflections. Love it. We still receive their Weekly Digital Digest from the Sydney Opera House that started in our 2014 visit. We were finishing a NZ/Aus cruise and stayed four days in that city.
ReplyDelete..

ReplyDeleteIt looks particularly good in blue.
ReplyDeleteDon't think there's a building in the world that's even more famous for its appearance than this one or maybe the Eiffel Tower.
