Friday's Hunt and Weekend Reflections

Once again it is time for Friday’s Hunt and Weekend Reflections and this week the word prompts are the letter E, Favourite and Bounce.

This is an ENERGETIC Annika, my granddaughter who is visiting from Malawi.  When we were down at my old caravan at Whiterock last week, we visited a friend's farm and Annika decided to BOUNCE on their bales.

We have just returned from spending 3 wonderful nights at Blessingbourne House and this is Judith and Daniel on the tennis court having a competition to see who can BOUNCE the ball the longest!!

Before leaving for Blessingbourne House, Annika painted my face and made me look like a bunny.  Afterwards we when up into my loft and found this old fur and she made bunny ears, stuck a carrot in my mouth and then took the shot of this EEJIT - Moi.  In Ireland this is the word used for an idiot!
Say no more!!

At Blessingbourne House we were responsible for letting the hens out in the morning and putting them to bed at night.  Of course we had to also collect the EGGS and here is one freshly laid.

This is a shot I took when I went out by myself on the rowing boat and you can just see Blessingbourne House peeping through the trees.  We have just arrived home from here and I have MANY more photographs and video clips I have to edit and show you in the future from this wonderful place.

I have only a few more days with my family now and I will be very sad to see them go again however I have many more memories of a wonderful time with them and the fun and laughter we have had together.  I will leave you to pick a favourite this week.

Many thanks for visiting and to ALL who comment.

Cist Grave Stones Mount Stewart

These Cist Grave Stones are located at the National Trust property of Mount Stewart, Newtownards.  Photographed by David from IrishSights.
CLICK shot to upload, then I suggest you put it into toggle mode (bottom R). This makes it much larger.   Then CLICK and hold and you can move the Stones in any direction.

A cist is a small stone-built coffin-like box or ossuary used to hold the bodies of the dead. Examples can be found across Europe and in the Middle East.  A cist may have been associated with other monuments, perhaps under a cairn or long barrow. Several cists are sometimes found close together within the same cairn or barrow. Often ornaments have been found within an excavated cist, indicating the wealth or prominence of the interred individual.

I  hope you enjoyed seeing this and also thanks to David for giving me permission to use this.

Thank you for visiting my blog and also for leaving comments.

Friday's Hunt and Weekend Reflections

Once again it is time for Friday’s Hunt and Weekend Reflections and this week the word prompts are the letter D, Favourite and Summer/ Winter. As most of you know by now, my family are home on holidays from Malawi and we have just come back from staying at my old caravan.  It is in a field, all on its own in the countryside yet over looking the sea and although it has no facilities, we love it.  These shots were taken around the caravan area.
A plus was that the weather, at least for these few days of SUMMER was brilliant.  My FAVOURITE is  the video at the end of this post.

D is for my DAUGHTER Judith and grandDAUGHTER Annika, and grandson DANIEL

Over looking the caravan is Sketrick Island which is accessed by a causeway, so we walked round the island and saw 2 DONKEYS and picked a contain of DELICIOUS Cherries.

The children had bought a bag of jelly sweet and there were 4 tongues so they insisted we all had a photograph with our tongues sticking out!! DAFT!

At the sea there was a Little Egret with a refection

When the children got home they  made a bee line to see if Honey and Maple were OK in my sumerhouse.  Four DARLINGS!
