WEEKEND REFLECTIONS AND THE WEEKEND ROUNDUP

Time for Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup and the letter is S and  Short.  Yippee!  Our haridressers are now open again and this is now my very SHORT hair.  Following that is a wonderful SPOTTED STARLING, a House SPARROW, a SHELL wreath on a SHINY door.  Finally I am trying my had at  street photography this week.  You need to understand on my early morning walks it is very quiet and there are not many people at all about or even cars as often i can walk SAFELY walk in the middle of the road (read below)

This is a  SINGLE person SITTING on one SIDE of this SEAT.  He looks very STUDIOUS with his SPECTAGALS on, SCARF round his neck, STURDY looking SHOES, with his STICK by his SIDE  for SUPPORT when walking and wearing SHADED jeans. Because it was SUCH a SUNNY day, it left SHADOWS  on the ground. After I took this SHOT, this kindly older gentleman, looked up and gave me a wonderful SMILE which made me feel SO SPECIAL.

Who knew you could  find so many "S's" from one SINGLE SHOT and it is certainly not a SHORT description of the image but I hope you  SINCERALY enjoyed this post and will have a SAFE  and SPECIAL day.

I am delighted that a Blackcap now visits my garden every day along with lots of other garden birds. In this post we also see Goldfinch and Hosue Sparrows.  All photos are taken behind glass

SATURDAY CRITTERS

These images were photographed recently while I was spending some time at my old caravan.  They are the House Sparrow and in the last shot the H. Sparrow has the company of the Dunnock and all were shot through my window.

While I was staying at my old caravan, I had the privilege of seeing House Sparrows, nesting, been fed, fledging and then the young coming to a couple of feeders I have having from my Ash tree.

These images of this male House Sparrow were photographed through the window of my old caravan and directly after this the female turned up and they copulated 8 times in quick sucession!

SATURDAY CRITTERS - Garden Birds

The Robin and House Sparrow (F)were photographed in the garden of my old caravan and the Blackkbird, Wood Pigeon, House Sparrow (M), Starling and Dunnock though my window looking into my back garden.

Birds at the Artis Royal Zoo in Amsterdam

The Artis Royal Zoo in Amsterdam was a wonderful place to see a great variety of birds and a lot were wild and nesting like the Heron and Egret.  A lot of birds  congregating round this lake and it was fabulous to watch them.  

In this post you will see Common Crane (above), Heron, Pelican, Egret, Cormorant (below).  

Although the light was not good for photography(in fact raining) and the nests were high in the trees, through binoculars we were able to see these Heron with their young on their nests.

There were also White stork, House Sparrow, along with the other usual small birds like Tits and finches.

Even on the roofs were the Heron and Egyptian Geese looking down at us.

Very close was a nesting Cormorant, more Heron, Pelican 

and a sleeping Mallard.

SATURDAY CRITTERS - Birds In My Garden

These are birds that I photographs in from garden through the windows (dirty) of my summerhouse.  There are Collared Dives, Sparrows, Starlings, Robin and Dunnock.  At the end there are my 2 bears that keep me company.  I am linking this post with SATURDAY CRITTERS.

Don’t mention that they look stuffed as they come alive when I am around and have the most wonderful adventures although today, Honey (the one on the left) has had a little too much vino and her hat is skew whiff.  Maple is always more restrained in her drinking habits!   That’s me relaxing, listening to music and watching the birds.
