THROUGH MY LENS - EXTRAS

On Monday I took my bird group up to the WOW RSPB Centre in Belfast and found the lake totally frozen with 1 Shelduck and a number of Hooded Crows skating on it however there were some bird feeders that attracted a good number of birds and this Blue Tit, Redpoll and Moorhen were take by Danny from the group.  We decided to change our plans and go down to Kinnegar by the sea to see if there were more birds there but just before we left, in flew Black tailed Godwits right in front of the observatory window no more than 3' away from us and these are the last 2 images today.  

Tomorrow I will show you birds at Kinnegar and all in all from a poor start we chalked up 39 different species of birds during the morning.

WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY - Birds at the WOW RSPB centre in March 2016

These are the birds I photographed when I took my bird class to the WOW RSPB Centre in Belfast last month.  They are Reed Bunting, Mallard, Wigeon, Moorhen, Coot, Teal, Black tailed Godwit, Pied Wagtail, Heron, Shelduck, Black headed Gulls . and lesser Redpoll in that order.

                                                    WINDOW

As it is near St Patrick's Day on 17 March and as you know I live in Northern Ireland, I thought I would show you a beautiful window which is in one of the Cathedrals in Downpatrick town, County Down.  

Once again, my bird class came up trumps for the photograph entitled 'LOUD' when we visited the WOW RSPB centre in Belfast last week for our bird outing.

                  These are Lesser Redpoll on the feeders at the reserve.
                              They have lovely RED heads and chests.   

Below is my toasting FORK that used to belong to my Father and now sits beside my drawing room fire.  When my grand children come over from Malawi this summer, I know they will want to use it to toast bread and marshmallows.
