WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY - Birds at the WOW RSPB centre in March 2016

These are the birds I photographed when I took my bird class to the WOW RSPB Centre in Belfast last month.  They are Reed Bunting, Mallard, Wigeon, Moorhen, Coot, Teal, Black tailed Godwit, Pied Wagtail, Heron, Shelduck, Black headed Gulls . and lesser Redpoll in that order.

I am linking to WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.

Hope you enjoyed seeing these birds.  We certainly did although there were a lot more I did not photograph.

Many thanks for visiting and also to all who leave comments.

  6. Oh I love buntings and haven't seen one since Kenya days (2011). The white-faced wagtail, I only saw in North Africa too. Thanks for sharing these beautiful birds, Margaret. Have a great day. Jo

  7. How you got so close to a wigeon I've no idea, they normally spook at about 150 metres

  8. Beautiful collection of birds, Margaret... Right now--I'm looking out of my window at the little birds (mostly finches) devouring the thistle in that feeder... It's cold here today and the birds are SO hungry...

I've been communicating with your friend, Ken, from Ireland (the one who makes gorgeous You Tube videos)... Nice guy.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  11. How is it that you have so many birds to choose from this time of year ... or actually anytime of year. I seem to be very limited in my choices and it makes my mouth water every time I visit you. You certainly know where to go. Maybe I need to be more mobile and find some lush bird havens :) Great series, Margaret ...

P.S. I went through my videos and even though I thought I had a handle on it, I still move too fast and my camera gets jerky when I try to zoom in. Still don't have much to work with and am on the verge of giving it up :(

  25. A great selection of birds Margaret. A bit of everything there - waders, wildfowl and passerines. And I notice a heron snuck in there too.

  26. Beautiful images! I favor the Widgeon, Teal and Wagtail. The Moorhen is virtually identical to our Common Gallinule.
