I also walked round the lake at Mount Stewart and found
12 newly born Mallard ducklings well hidden in the reeds along with their
parents. There is a short video of them at the end of this post.

Such lovely photos and videos! The ducklings are very cute and the chaffinch photos are magical. I hope he/she survives despite the unusual colour!

ReplyDeleteIn our home, we love ducks! The attentive mom wasted no time to get the ducklings to their natural habitat. The shallow marsh seems perfectly safe for the young ones to explore. Great videos!

It's so good you refound the leucistic Chaffinch again Margaret. Being so pale it needs to keep a good lookout for predators.
ReplyDeleteRe-finding that Chaffinch must have been like looking for a needle in a haystack. The bird appears quite docile in the video, so it probably did not attract attention by moving about actively. A really beautiful specimen!
