Last week I took my bird group to Oxford island and I
noted that there were not the numbers if birds as there had been previously. I photographed a few birds and shot a VIDEO of Great Crested Grebes displaying. Below is a Moorhen on her nest with 1 egg just outside the Centre itself. Also there are shots of Mallard, Great Tit, Pied Wagtail and a Swallow.

I hope you enjoyed this post especially the Grebes displaying on the video.

ReplyDeleteMargaret, the clarity of your images is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived near you and could join your 'bird group', I know I could learn so much from you.
I am looking for my first 'real grown-up camera' it's a bug decision for me!
I read in your bio that you wished you had a better zoom.
What camera do you recommend for a good zoom?

ReplyDeleteThe red beak is amazing! These are gorgeous images!
ReplyDeleteWell done Margaret. I fing Moorhens very difficult to photograph. They are so wary and then there's the problem of the dark eye angainst the black plumage ..

Oh my goodness...that displaying video is really a very special treat Margaret. Enjoyed viewing your other bird images too. But the video...wow.
ReplyDeleteThe video! The video! What a great video! The music and the visual content was just right, very nicely done. Their movements made me giggle, when they do the "what did you say?" head turns it tickles me :oP
ReplyDeleteGreat shots as usual.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, what a great video! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love the music you used in the video, it fit perfectly with the displays. Cute birds and I enjoyed each photo. Thanks Margaret :)
ReplyDeleteI love the egg in that rustic nest. Wonderful. And so many birds to day. The crested Grebes are a hoot!
ReplyDeleteyour Moorhen is nesting? And ours don´t seem to arrive at all :( You are lucky.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great birding hotspot. Again, lots of good birds. Some of these must be your local birds. It reminds me of our Sweetwater Wetlands here in Tucson. Very pretty.
