For
now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

DeleteSweet capture, Margaret!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it Laura.
DeleteBeautifully lit. I don't understand to days quotation but that is probably for the best.
ReplyDeleteThank you Adrian. The illustration here is from a mirror when the image appears far behind the mirror itself. In those days, imperfect metal surfaces formed the mirrors, so we can imagine how imperfect and enigmatical the image appeared; so here the Apostle says, “Like that image which you see when you look at an object in a mirror far off, with blurred and undefined outline, such is our knowledge here and now; but then when we die, we shall see Him as you see a man when you stand before him face to face. Then you will understand all the things that you did not understand on earth” This is my understanding of this verse..
