The Weekend Roundup and Weekend Reflections

TimIt is time for Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup and the letter is I and Inspired.  Today I am showing you how two famous artists where INSPIRED to paint these particular paintings but first I have my REFLECTION image, a selfie taken in a mirror at the Art Gallery.

I found it INTERESTING how Dali turned back to Christianity (I did not know this) and that his INTENTION in painting this work of art was  to show this (and more) and in fact this was so unlike Dali's usual work that this painting have been INSPIRATIONAL to many people in many ways.

The Weekend Roundup and Weekend Reflections

Time for The Weekend Roundup and Weekend Reflections and the letter is C and Calm.  All these photographs were taken in Scotland and the first one is taken in Campbeltown where I was staying with my sister and illustrates CALM water and has a beautiful REFLECTION of this yacht and there is no one in the COCKPIT.  That day, my nephew and family took me on the CALADONIAN Ferry to Arran Island.  There we explored this ruin of a CASTLE.

Arran is an island off the west coast from Ayrshire and is often referred to as Scotland in miniature. In the south of Arran you can find fertile valleys, meadows and prehistoric ruins.

These are my nephews’ two lovely CHILDREN who are getting a CUDDLE from their Dad and this last shot is a view from the CASTLE and as you CAN see, it was a CALM day on Aaron Island as well as the mainland Scotland.

THE WEEKEND ROUNDUP AND WEEKEND REFLECTIONS

Time for Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup and this week the letter is A and Architecture.  This is my eldest granddaughter ANNA on a beach when we visited South AFRICA. I cannot leave my other granddaughter out and especially as on this day as it was taken was ANNIKA's birthday.

I have just arrived back from a holiday in Scotland and today I am showing you the Campbeltown Picture House, designed by ALBERT V Gardner of Glasgow in 1913, is of the School ART Nouveau style, it is a A Listed building and one of the earliest surviving purpose-built cinemas in the UK.

The cinema was totally refurbished in December 2017 to it original design.

 In the foyer of the cinema stands an Mercury ARC Rectifiers.

The cinema is overlooking the harbour and I end with this boat called ALASKA and my REFLECTION image.

While I was in Campbeltown, Scotland visiting my sister in July this year,

THE WEEKEND ROUNDUP and WEEKEND REFLECTIONS -

Time for The Weekend Roundup and Weekend Reflections.  This week the letter is L and Lonely. The first three images illustrate LONELY.  The first is my FAVOURITE and was taken in Scotland, the second image was taken at Quarr Abbey, near Ryde on the Isle of Wight.  One man in the abbey.  The third is my grandson sitting on a beach in Africa.

This LONG ship  called the Stena LINE with its REFLECTION is LYING near the Wow RSPB Centre in Belfast.
