Pussy Willow, also called as Catkins, also named for cats, in this case for their tails (from the old Dutch word for kitten katteken). Somewhat they look similar to bottle brush flowers. They're moisture loving and attract wildlife too, including goldfinches, warblers and hummingbirds.

Willow trees are right up there among my favorite trees so so many reasons. They are beautiful as your photo shows.

ReplyDeleteThey are pretty but i cannot touch them, they make me break out in hives. It seems i'm allergic.
