Pussy Willow

 These are the buds of the Pussy Willow I photographed a few months ago on one of my walks.

  2. There were several pussy willow trees at my parent's place. I loved them - and should plant some here.

  6. Pussy Willow, also called as Catkins, also named for cats, in this case for their tails (from the old Dutch word for kitten katteken). Somewhat they look similar to bottle brush flowers. They're moisture loving and attract wildlife too, including goldfinches, warblers and hummingbirds.

  8. They are pretty but i cannot touch them, they make me break out in hives. It seems i'm allergic.
