  1. How I wish these memorials were a historic anachronism...

  2. I believe it is a monument to the fallen of both World Wars-- is that right? The saddest thing to me is that so many have forgotten, or have never been taught about what we were fighting for in WWII. It's also the last time we actually won a war-- if that's possible.

  3. A fine looking monument. We have just celebrated Memorial Day honoring those who gave their lives in war. Let us hope we have become smart enough to avoid war in the future.

  4. Memorials are a beautiful tribute to the ones departed. But the war memorials and the memorials of human sufferings are stern reminders for us to take necessary measures, so that the history never repeats itself. That's the significance of these memorials.
