On Monday, when I started this 2 week series of Tory Island (Part 1), i mentioned I would show you more photographs of the Lighthouse and today that
is what I am doing. Chris adn I were very fortunate to go inside the gate and that was becasue the 6 men that came over in the boat were sent to fix the light. These are shots taken as we walked round the enormous site. No more words needed, just enjoy.

If you missed me showing you some of the birds yesterday

Oooooh.
ReplyDeleteThere is a romance and a beauty to lighthouses that I think few other structures can claim.
Jealous thoughts - and thank you.
A wonderful lighthouse basking in the sun.
ReplyDeleteThese are cracking good photos, Margaret. Looks like you had brilliant weather for that trip.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking building and images
ReplyDeleteHello Margaret, wonderful series on the Lighthouse. Looks like a beautiful spot to visit. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteI've always had such an interest in lighthouses!! This one is beautiful. Sadly, our lighthouses in America are just a 'thing of the past'....most aren't used as intended any longer what with the onset of computers these days.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos.
That is a big place. Is that lighthouse fully automated or does someone still live there?
ReplyDeleteWonderful images of the lighthouse!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures remind me of the lighthouse on Bardsey Island a bird observatory in North Wales. The "island life" is so appealing isn't it Margaret?
ReplyDeleteYou visit the most interesting places while birding, Margaret. Inspiring us to include a few birding sights on our trip.
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty, I'd like to tour in real life!

ReplyDeleteThe lighthouse pictures are great, but I especially liked the wall shots....
ReplyDeleteWonderful that you got to take all these shots of it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of the lighthouse, and nice view as well! I like your shots of the stonework and of the helipad...and now...I'm thinking of that Nancy Drew episode I watched once about a lighthouse! This one doesn't look nearly as scary though! It looks like a lovely place to visit.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of that nice lighthouse, Margaret!
ReplyDeleteHave a Beautiful Day!!
Peace :)
Lighthouses are such interesting subjects, and each has its own stories.
