Moorhen
Back again to the start with all the gulls on the fence
and below you can see a male Mallard duck that has already started going into
eclipse plumage.
However I could not finish without showing you this
beautiful new sculpture they have added to the lake.
I hope you enjoyed seeing some more shots of the things we saw as we walked round the lake.
Many thanks for visiting and also to those who leave comments.
How I love to see a "real" English robin, Margaret! I loved the male Mallard's eclipse plumage. I hope that cat doesn't succeed in eating a duckling. Greetings Jo
ReplyDeleteI do love that sculpture. And, much as I love cats, I hope you permanently convinced the cat that it really doesn't like duck. Or ducklings.
ReplyDeletefabulous photos, gosh I am so envious of your class members! I've seen a similar bronze swan like this I wonder if it is from the same artist. :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Margaret, awesome collection of wildlife images and pretty sculpture. I love the first shot of the Robin! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteGood work in seeing off the cat Margaret. They can do an awful lot of damage to many creatures, not just birds.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret. Still having trouble with my eye, but am trying to comments at least once a week anyway. Love your photos today (and everyday). That sculpture is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteKiltonga sounds like it ought to be in Africa! All our mallards here are now looking very very drab.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds and a cute cat up to no good. Love the sculpture in the lake.
ReplyDeleteI like the Robin and the reflection of the statue in the water.
ReplyDeleteThat shot of the robin is quite fine--- Enjoyed them all.
ReplyDeletethose reflections are really special!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret!
ReplyDeleteWith great pleasure to watch wildlife paintings.
Your photos always arouse my admiration.
Greetings.
Lucia
Love the beautiful sculpture Margaret. Great photos as always. We are getting far too many visits from cats in our garden - I have a horrible feeling someone has moved in close by who has several of them - constantly chasing them away from the bird feeders and the pond (they chase the frogs :( ).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. That sculpture is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Margaret. I enjoyed them all but loved the reflections from the statue.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the cat, enjoyed the birds, enjoyed it all Margaret~
ReplyDeletelovely watery scenes.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret,
ReplyDeleteI loved the photos of the birds and the naughty kitty.
I find it hard to control our own Black Kitty.
I know he has downed at least one bird last week.
Nothing one can do.
We have 3 big, noisy brass bells on him and he sounds like a kitty fire engine, but the squirrels stir-up chaos and the birds are victimized. We love the birds and BK.
That's that...
Have a Wonderful Day!
Peace :)
That's a great sculpture. Glad you were able to deter the kitty from the ducklings--for the time being, anyway. I love those little robins!
ReplyDeleteLove the duck and moorhen, and that sculpture is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe moor hen was my favorite.
