Once
again, I am posting from Tory Island when I visited it in May this year. Today
all the birds are sitting on fences, the Meadow Pipit, Wheatear and Tree
Sparrow on barbed wire and the series of Oystercatcher images are on a wall. I am showing a video at the end with a seal, ducks, Pipit, Wheatear and Oystercatcher
This
was probably someone’s home many years ago.
I
hope you enjoyed not only seeing the fences but also the birds.

Birds can make even the ugliest fence beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the remnants of the old home. What stories those stones must have heard and seen...
Hi Margaret,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series pictures, 5 and 9 are my favorite.

Hello Margaret, it is so nice that the birds all posed for you on the fences. I love the oystercatchers and the seal. Wonderful collection of images and I enjoyed the video. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh what a pretty place and I love the old cellar walls it is so beautiful. Imagine the home that was on top. Nice photos Margaret. Hug B
ReplyDeleteFantastic fence/bird images Margaret. I would LOVE to have an 8 foot stone fence between our yard and neighbors' LOL
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your birds very much Margaret, and the one of the old home. If only old ruins could talk :)
ReplyDeleteI really can't remember the last time I saw a Tree Sparrow round my way such a tragedy their rapid decline, one I'd my favourite species is the Sparrow. Great images all round but the Oystercatcher had me in stitches and is definately a my favourite (after the tree sparrow of course)
ReplyDeleteVery nice set , we love the seals ;-)

ReplyDeleteTypical oystercatcher, maying a racket at something!

ReplyDeleteGood fences and birds posts. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteBirds on fences just make good pictures - they always look so cute. I love oyster catchers - here on the West Coast they are completely black with this strikingly orange-red bill. Wonderful birds, but quite shy.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done. Enjoyed each and every sight.
ReplyDeleteThe barbed fences and birds (especially the sparrow with a worm in its beak) are really special. The Oystercatcher seems to be doing a dance for you. And the small house framed perfectly by the stone wall and arch, is stunning! Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteLeonard Cohen would be proud. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I enjoyed this post a lot. Of course the birds, but the stone walls and fences are wonderful. Somehow seeing the remnants of someone's home immediately makes it easier to think about what it would have been like to live there back in the day.
ReplyDeleteThe old stone walls are wonderful and seeing the birds and seal in action was so nice. Looks like a busy little place!
ReplyDeletewhen it comes to fences, birds love them! Love the Oystercatcher and the scenery.
