WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

While taking a walk round the reservoir at Conlig, near Bangor, I spied these eggs on a floating nest and they belonged to this Little Grebe.  There were also a Mallard with her three chicks.

  1. Love that floating nest, and hope that all of the eggs hatch. And thrive.

  4. Great to see the Grebe, but these eggs seem late in the season. The Mallard with chicks looks fine.

  5. That nest looks rather precarious . I guess they know what works for them.

  6. A floating nest, wow, i didn't know there were any birds that built floating nests. The more you learn, the more there is to learn.

Sweet ducklings, i hope they are doing well.
