WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

Recently my birders and I visited the Floodgates and Kiltonga Nature Reserve in Newtownards to do a spot of bird watching.  A few of the newer members of my group had never seen the Coots feet nor the red mark at the top of the Moorhen’s leg and that is why I took these shots.

I am linking to WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY

I hope you enjoyed this post today.

I appreciate your visit and comments.

  2. Lovely photos of these Coots. I have a friend who had a sailboat named Coot. He bought it in the Island Jersey.

  3. They make a very distinctive sound--- Brrruk (I can't spell bird talk very well)

  4. The Coot's feet remind me of inflatable pontoon boats. No wonder they can walk across water weeds.

    Thank you for sharing, Margaret!
