Recently my birders and I visited the Floodgates and Kiltonga   Nature Reserve in Newtownards to do a spot of bird watching.  We saw these cygnets, Gadwall ducks, a Heron very high up on a tree adn another Heron that appears to have lost his head!!!  The final shot is of  two Collared Doves

I am linking to SATURDAY CRITTERS.

I hope you enjoyed this post today.

I appreciate your visit and comments.

  1. Since it is almost Halloween, I would expect nothing less than a headless Heron.

  2. I do enjoy seeing your bird photos. Some of these birds are new to me.

  3. Heron that lost his head made me laugh out loud. Beautiful pics!

  4. Hello Margaret,
You saw a nice variety of birds, I love the pretty swans, ducks, herons and the Doves.
Great collection of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critters and post. Take care, have a happy weekend! PS, I appreciate your comment and visit.

  5. Hello, Your birding outing was successful. A nice selection of birds. Have you noticed there are two headless creatures in your post,:=)

  6. All looking quite content in doing their bird things, except the one that lost his head. Him, well, as my Sweetie says, "Somethin' the matter with dat boy!"

The mute swans are my favorite.
