Little Grebe at Kiltonga Nature Reserve

Recently my birders and I visited the Floodgates and Kiltonga Nature Reserve in Newtownards to do a spot of bird watching.  This Little Grebe was very far away and every second he was diving for lunch so not such a great shot!

I hope you enjoyed this post today.

I appreciate your visit and comments.

  1. These Grebes dive so often; it's a miracle you even get these pics.

  2. Grebes are cute. In nearly 35 of living where we do, we've only seen one! THey must be around.

  3. Many are also way too fast for me. If they see me they dive under and then surface again much further. They probably do not like to be on the photo or film. ;) Greetings from the Netherlands.

  5. Margaret, you have a long lens and a steady hand to get these shots. Also patience to wait for the Grebe to come back to the surface. They are fascinating birds, especially in the spring.
