Stick Insect in Malawi

The first day I arrived in Malawi my grandson Daniel brought me this Stick insect for me to see.  It was difficult to photograph as it kept moving.

Many thanks for your visit and also your comments.

  1. It would blend in with nature well. It looks like a bit like a praying mantis.

  3. What a beauty. And a lot bigger than the ones we see here.

  4. Great find - I do like Stick Insects - we keep some as pets (Pink-winged Stick Insects). When adult they can fly round the room. Fascinating insects :) Hope you are having a good holiday and have enjoyed Christmas with your family :)

  5. You made it there. Yeah. Hope you are having a grand time. I have seen a stick insect once before. Praying mantis also looks much like a stick too.

  6. The Praying Mantis is a fascinating insect. It is a voracious predator in the insect world. Great photos. This one looked perfectly happy to stay on that hand.
