Mount Stewart gardeners are very aware that hard winter
could damage the plants so let me take you through these beautiful gates and show you are some of the ways they protect them. I am
linking it to GOOD FENCES.
Thanks for visiting and also leaving all your comments.
There is beauty to the protection too.
ReplyDeleteThey almost look like ghost plants. Excellent gardeners!
ReplyDeleteSo that's how they do it? Now I know why my garden looks a mess in ealy spring. Enjoy your trip to Africa Margaret.
ReplyDeleteHello, the plants will stay warm covered. Enjoy your trip. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteIt takes lots of hard work all year round to keep these gardens so beautiful! I love the gates!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Margaret and safe travels in Africa!
Hello Margaret!
ReplyDeletePlants and shrubs should be protected from frost.
They look beautiful in protective coats.
Beautiful pictures, Margaret.
Greetings.
The plant coverings make for a surreal scene in the gardens. Around here it is important to keep plants frozen in winter so they don't go through thaw-freeze cycles until they really do thaw in spring.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of work, but so worth it to save plants. It's still very green there!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see the plants all protected for winter!
ReplyDeleteThose blue tarps sure pop right out... Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe protection makes the garden look like it's filled with unique sculptures.
