CARRION CROW NEAR FENCES

In the UK, this Carrion Crow would be very familiar to everyone however to me from N.Ireland it is  not.  We do have some however the majority are Hooded Crows in our part of the world and these are much rarer in England.  Since I did no know Tex's meme was finishing, there are fences in the shots.   This was shot in Ryde on the Isle of Wight.

Many thanks for visiting and also for leaving any comments.

  1. This crow looks just like the ones we have here! We call them just regular crows, but you know the different names really well.

  2. A handsome crow. I marvel at how these large birds walk so gently as they scout the yard for leftovers from the birds and squirrels. It will take a while to get used to not having our good fences!

  3. I have a very weak spot for the corvid family. Such intelligent family minded birds.

  4. I thought they were common in both parts, my father came from southern Ireland and called the ones near him Carrion crows. Must see what our local ones are like

  6. I prefer the hooded crow with his sort of monastic sackcloth and ashes plumage!
