For the past 2 days you have joined me at Crawfordsburn Country Park however for the next 4 days please join me again and my bird class
as we visit Victoria Park, near Belfast.
This
shot is part of the lake.
On
one side of the park is the main road into Belfast and perhaps you can see Spires in the distance, while the other side of the park is
Harland & Woffe and Shorts.
This
SC.1 vertical take-off and landing aircraft (VTOL) was built in Short Brothers
in 1950’s. It was the precursor of the
Harrier Jump Jet.
In
May, while we were visiting this park we came upon this rig in the distance being
worked on in the shipyard. Now it has
left there and is taking trails at sea. I
can see it at sea from the coast in my town.
Tomorrow I will show you 'fences' I managed to photograph.
I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for your visit as well as your comments.
I like drill rigs. have spent many a week dragging them about.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Shorts got a mention all to often people talk about H&W (rightly so to) and even Delorean but often ovetlook Shorts. Great picture of the Sc.1 a fantastic piece of engineering.
