Victoria Park, Belfast (Part 1)

For the past 2 days you have joined me at Crawfordsburn Country Park however for the next 4 days please join me again and my bird class as we visit Victoria Park, near Belfast.

This shot is part of the lake.

On one side of the park is the main road into Belfast and perhaps you can see Spires in the distance, while the other side of the park is Harland & Woffe and Shorts.

This SC.1 vertical take-off and landing aircraft (VTOL) was built in Short Brothers in 1950’s.  It was the precursor of the Harrier Jump Jet.

In May, while we were visiting this park we came upon this rig in the distance being worked on in the shipyard.  Now it has left there and is taking trails at sea.  I can see it at sea from the coast in my town.

Tomorrow I will show you 'fences' I managed to photograph.

I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for your visit as well as your comments.

  2. Thank you. A fascinating tour.
Here in Oz, we have a state named after Victoria, and more streets, roads and buildings than you could shake a stick at.

  16. So much to see. Interesting you can see the rig from shore now. Victoria is a lovely park, and that is a grand name. I wish I'd seen it before making my list of names on this week's Share Your World post!
