I have often shown you various photographs from Bangor
Ward Park, just 2 minutes walk from my home however I have never shown you the
bowling and putting greens. What better time to show you than when they are festooned with
bunting during a Bowling Tournament.
I wonder how many of you enjoy the game of bowls? I don't play although both of my parents did.
I am linking this post with GOOD FENCES.
Thanks for visiting and also to those who leave comments.
What fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I don't play.
Two of my brothers do though.
Hello Margaret, it is neat seeing the bowling tournament. It looks so different from the Bowling we have here in the US. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI love to see public spaces like this being used for such a variety of activities.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret,
ReplyDeleteThe grass is so green and that and other beautiful things that you have captured make your photos so delightful to look at - well done!
I bowl at Team Outings, occasionally and I like it somewhat.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)
How do you play bowls? I'm not familiar with that game. Looks like a lovely spot.
ReplyDeleteCool! I am pretty sure lawn bowling is not a game with which I am familiar!
ReplyDeletedefinitely not the kind of bowling i was thinking about! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a great view for fences, and what fun happening for all!
ReplyDeleteVery colorful!
ReplyDeleteI have a coworker who is really in to lawn bowling. I'm assuming this is the same thing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun but I do not know the game. Nice photos of the park, participants and spectators.
ReplyDeleteWhat a festive sight! Have never seen bowling done in the the open air.
ReplyDeleteNice to see Lawn Bowling still exists. Love the colorful fences. Nice shots!
ReplyDeleteA lovely bowling green! I like to visit Ward park in summer with my children and remember playing a tennis match there many years ago! I don't play bowls though! It all looks very festive in your photos!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a fun event. I loved the colorful banners and pennants on the fences. - I'm sure this type of "bowling" is very different from the Bowling I do at an alley with 10 pins and a large bowling ball.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have this beautiful park within two minutes of your home Margaret. I'd be there every day. Lovely place.
ReplyDeleteWow, this brings back childhood memories. Where I lived in Massachusetts (USA) there was a park near my house. They had a bowling green there and the elderly men would be out there almost every day. I wish I had paid more attention to them then.
ReplyDeleteObserving and recording nature has to much more rewarding than Bowls Margaret.{:))
ReplyDeleteI love the looks of this fence/place...just seems fun and welcoming.
ReplyDeletefestive looking fences!!!!
ReplyDeleteNot even real sure what it is! But it is green and pretty there in your neighborhood. And. I guess a way to get outdoors for those who are not nature lovers particularly.
