In May when my bird class and I visited Crawfordsbirn Country Park, the foliage was very dense and also the birds were very busy either still looking for a mate or feeding young. However this Goldcrest below entertained us for about 15 minutes although it was never still for a second! There were also Long Tailed Tits as well as Chaffinch and Hooded Crow in the same area.
I am sorry I could not get many photographs although we saw Jay on two different occasions as well as Wood Pigeon, Bullfinch, Robin, Blackbird and all the other Tits and there is a video at the end of a Great Tit just after it had a bath.
My bird class posed for a photo for me.
These next few shots were taken when I arrived home. The Greenfinch is at one of my feeders and the Hooked Crow is on top of an ariel.
I have a short video of the Great Tit after he has had his
bath, CLICK HERE if it does not appear below.
Many thanks for your visit and tomorrow we will be visiting Victoria Park, near Belfast.
I am linking this post with WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.
Thanks for all those people who leave me comments. I apprecaite every one of them.
You did well to get a shot of the Goldcrest. A grand result.
ReplyDeleteHe was a slippery customer to photograph. Thanks for comment.
ReplyDeleteAt least your bird class was considerate enough to stand still.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos - thank you.
I liked the Great Tit's bum rumble at the end :-)
ReplyDeleteYour doing well to get any images of goldcrest - they do move all the time.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
I like the 3rd picture of the bird's back and its beautiful tail. Lovely bird photos!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos all of them, but the one of the bird's back and fanned tail is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHello Margaret, I love the pretty Goldcrest. Lovely birds and images.
ReplyDeletelove that first cutie, plump and perfectly colored!!! it's so nice to have a group to share the birding experience!!!
ReplyDeleteCute bird pics!
ReplyDeleteI do envy you all that have joined a bird class, and some day I will be doing that too! It's got to happen.
ReplyDeleteGreat to get photos of the Goldcrest and I love the Jay photo :)
ReplyDeleteI think you did very well on the Goldcrest Margaret, probably the hardest bird to photograph successfully I also liked the Hooded Crow
ReplyDeleteSuch an interesting group of birds here. They are all so different from one another. Got your message and question about the text on my blog. I don't use the white because I can't read it:) It's too hard on my eyes to focus. We have opposite issues:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds - especially the Goldcrest although I am sure it would not have been easy to get a clear photo among all those branches.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the video of the Great Tit and the still images.
Love the green in all the photos.
Have a Great Week!
Peace :)
nice group of birds and nice birding group. :)
ReplyDeleteloved to see your little Goldcrest. This year I have not seen any where I live :(
ReplyDeleteLove the birds especially the jay with the spread frail fan! Wish I were in a class like yours.
ReplyDeleteI love that shot of the fanned tail! And your birding group! You mentioned a video with your voice, and I've been unable to find it, or even the comment or email where you left the note.
ReplyDeleteLove the Goldcrest Margaret. Never easy to capture as they never stop still long enough.
ReplyDeleteI love crows, but the goldcrest was great too. I loved your video as well! Great shots! phyllis
