SATURDAY CRITTERS - Victoria Park, Belfast (Part 4)

Today I am showing you the birds I was able to photograph while walking round Victoria Park, near Belfast.  This Mute Swan was sitting on her nest in May so I am hoping her eggs hatched and she has now some goslings.

Greylag goose above and Pigeon below.

Mallard above and Tufted duck below.

We saw several Little Grebe however they were at a great distance.

Common Tern and Shelduck.

There were a lot of small birds however I found them impossible to photograph.  Along with this Great Tit, there were Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Coal & Blue Tit, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Robin, Dunnock, Blackbird and the Squirrel below.

Thank you for joining me all week as we visited both Crawfordsburn Country Park and Victoria Park.

I am linking this post with SATURDAY CRITTERS.

I hope you enjoyed our walks and the wildlife we found.

Many thanks for all the comments you left on my posts.

  22. Margaret - just home from vacation and catching up. Though I read your comment/question about garlic didn't respond then. Sorry. I would imagine that you could try to grow garlic in a pot. We plant them here in the fall several weeks before the first frost so they start growing. I mulched them with leaves then to overwinter. I guess if daffodils and tulips bulbs can be grown in pots then garlic can be too. Try it with a head of garlic you buy at the grocery store. Separate the cloves and plant them just till the tips show.

    Good luck with it.

  23. The swan looks so pretty, I hope her eggs are OK. I like the iridescence of the pigeon's neck and the gleam on the Mallard's green head. The Tufted Duck seems to be riding low in the water or maybe entering a swell. You get to see so many birds!

  24. Nice shots. 'Distant' and 'Little Grebe' seem to very often go together!
