Israel Visited (Part 4)

In this post I have tried to give you a taste of what Israel is like.  There are lots more photosI could show and tell you about however I think this amount will give you a flavour of the country.  As you can see there have been posts on Israel the past 3 days and there will be 4 more to go should you wish to follow this series.

The church of Saint Mary Magdalene is situated on the slope of the Mount of Olives in the Garden of Gethsemane and is one of the most easily recognizable landmarks of Jerusalem. This striking example of Russian architecture was built in the Muscovite style with golden onion domes or cupolas.

A Galilean – type Synagogue

I thought these were unusual sculptures.

The Church of All Nations near the Mount of Olives.

The Dome on the Rock.
CLICK HERE if you wish to find more about this magnificent and historic building.

I hope you enjoyed seeing a little part of Israel and I will be continuing the series tomorrow.

  4. Wonderful photos, Margaret, I will get there someday. The stone everywhere is amazing, and all the different styles of architecture. The Roman columns, the Russian golden onion domes on the slopes with the olive trees, such a rich place for history, and sacred settings.

  21. I have been enjoying your posts about Israel so far. I went there in 1995, only two weeks before Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated. It was a very different time there then - a country full of hope.
