WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY- Amsterdam

These Rock Sandpiper were photographed at the Artis Royal Zoo in Amsterdam.  I had never seen or indeed hear of these birds so it was lovely to see them even they were in a Zoo.
I am linking the post with Wild Bird Wednesday.

Lots more birds to show you tomorrow.
Many thanks for visiting and also for leaving comments

  1. We have plenty of sandpipers on the beaches, but I don't know about the Rock ones. His feather pattern is so beautiful! And a good camouflage for being around rocks.

  8. Hello Margaret!:) I had never heard of these birds either. In it's natural environment, it must be very well camouflaged amongst the rocks.
