Time to see what is on offer for Friday’s Hunt and
Weekend Reflections this week. The letter this week is C, Building and Something
I wear. All the letters for C were from
the Artis Royal Zoo in Amsterdam. There
is a COOT on her nest, then 2 COOT CHICKS among the Flamingos with REFLECTIONS, and a CORMORANT.
You will see Bald Ibis COPULATING on the video.
This waterproof COAT is SOMETHING I WEAR when it is raining and I am photographing, which it was that day.
Now I have taken many images of the buildings in
Amsterdam and above is a typical view of them.
However the brown BUILDING in this image below is now not straight and often
as in the following shot they need to be shored up by wooden scaffolding due to them listing.
The final shot is of a fabulous BUILDING, now being used as a restaurant in the Vondel Park in Amssterdam.
Many thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed seeing the post.
Also, to those who leaves comments, I thank you.
Flamingos are beautiful. The buildings are beautiful too, especially the restaurant in the last photo. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI love your Cormorant shots, they show such detail. I have not seen closeups of a Cormorant this good! I also like seeing YOU in action!! Gosh, I would be scared to live in this building!
ReplyDeleteAmsterdam has a home in your heart doesn't it? Deservedly so.
ReplyDeleteI really love the flamingo shots. Great images!

Love seeing those flamingoes. Never been to that part of the world but hope to one day.
ReplyDeleteHello Margaret!
ReplyDeleteAmsterdam is a wonderful city.
Your photos are gorgeous. I watch them with great pleasure.
Happy weekend :)
Love all your views of Amsterdam.
ReplyDeleteBald as a Coot as my father (who had a fine head of hair) would say!

Fascinating pictures. I always am drawn to the intricate feather detail on the birds.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I'd love to go there some day. I do a blog for a high resolution music download site in Holland--- mostly classical.
ReplyDeleteThat building is listing a bit. Isn't it nice to have outerwear that allows us to go out anytime we want?
ReplyDeleteAgain, thank you Margaret. I didn't know much about coots although they were in my vocabulary without my even remembering that they were birds. I seem to remember the word being a not very intelligent being. In the same realm of things as a rhyming loot. Perhaps preceded by the word, "old".

...Margaret, these buildings are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Margaret - I love the baby coots. They sure are fluffy! The Ibis put on a wonderful display for you - great timing! Fascinating to see how they go about fixing the leaning buildings in Amsterdam. What a marvelous collection of building styles.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! Nice looking buildings and great reflections!
ReplyDeleteLove all the bird images! I am usually not brave enough to take my camera out in the rain. Great shots of the buildings. I'm not sure I would want to trust a wooden scaffold to support the building I'm in. Thanks so much for joining Friday's Hunt. Have a great rest of the week!
