THROUGH MY LENS- Playing Indonesian Instruments!

Recently my friends Sue, Linda and I went to a Gamelon afternoon in Belfast.  Now let me tell you we had no idea what we were going to but as all 3 of us are up for a laugh and adventure, off we set.  It turned out to be an afternoon of playing different Indonesian instruments. There was a group of older people who turned up on the wrong day however we all joined in and it was tremendous fun.  I have a short VIDEO of us all playing for you to hear!

  1. It looks like a heap of fun.
I can remember a teacher bringing a selection in for us to play in school. Not musical precisely, but we enjoyed it.

  6. Nothing like some cross cultural fun! I showed up to a wedding on the wrong day and there was a wedding going on so I still thought I was good ..... till the bride came down the isle .... wrong bride! Oops!

  13. This is wonderful, Margaret. Were the ladies supposed to be playing a certain song or just what their mind told them to play? I would call their 'song' "A Study in Hodge Podge." The surely were enjoying themselves.
Sorry I'm late coming here. I missed Teresa's 7PM cutoff because we were still traveling from Louisiana, coming back to Houston (Katy), Texas. We have been visiting a cousin this weekend, she is 92, who doesn't have internet in her home. We did get e-mail in church Sunday.
Needless to say I was also with lots of elderly persons. I asked one if she were in Mary's (our cousin) class of Sunday school. She said something that I could not understand. The next thing I knew she was telling that I had asked her if she were married (she wasn't).
