I had my bird group out on Monday and although we had a
fun time, there were not many birds about on the two location we visited which
were near Helne’s Tower and a little park at Crawfordsburn Village. Danny, one of my bird group sent me these
shots so I thought I would share them with you.
I will show you my shots next Tuesday and Wednesday.
There were only two cygnets and a passing man stopped
to tell us there had been three however one of them disappeared when quite
young. You can see these ones are
already moulting their feather from brown to white. The last shot is a Moorhen.
I am linking this post SATURDAY CRITTERS.
Many thanks to Danny for sharing these shots and also for your visit today.
Many thanks for all the comments you leave on this post.

ReplyDeleteSwans are such beautiful birds. Too bad one of the cygnets didn't make it, but nature is sometimes cruel.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen cygnets this old. Their moulting makes a gorgeous feather pattern!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos and look at them a little sadly as I was supposed to be in your part of the world this weekend, staying in Ballycastle. Had to be cancelled at the last minute due to unexpected ill health of companion's mother. Maybe one day I'll get to see The Giant's Causeway .
