Part 2 of Kiltonga Nature Reserve

Following on from yesterday’s post when I showed you the Swans and 6 cygnets my bird group saw at Kiltonga Nature Reserve, these cygnets very wisely decided to move down a small channel of water away from their now aggressive parents.   However they now were behind a large hedge so i had to climb on a fence, and balance with my camera in one hand to get these shots which were taken at quite a distance and are now cropped.

The berry tree above is fullly laden and below is the flower Convolvulus.
Yes that is a Bee!

Many thanks for your visit and also all your comments.

  1. The white flower looks like a morning glory, but I see it is not. Or maybe this is the morning glory's proper name. The second picture is my favorite, it is beautiful! Like a dream or a fairy tale. The things we do for our blogs! I can't climb a fence, but have done some dangerous things just for pictures. You must be very agile and coordinated.

    1. Morning glory (also written as morning-glory is the common name for over 1,000 species of flowering plants in the family Convolvulaceae, whose current taxonomy and systematics are in flux. Morning glory species belong to many genera, one of which is Convolvulus Ginny

  6. Hi Margaret, I love the baby grebe and the Shovler feeding (bottoms up!) But I have NEVER seen ducks sleeping in the water. Always on the banks. Amazing blooms and bee. Have a great day. Jo
