FRIDAY'S HUNT and WEEKEND REFLECTIONS

Again it is time for FRIDAY’S HUNT and WEEKEND REFLECTIONS.  This week we are looking at the letter Q, your favourite image and autumn/spring.  The first 3 images were taken at Mount Stewart House and Gardens and below is a beautiful REFLECTION in one of the ponds in the Formal garden which is possibly my FAVOURITE this week.

I thought these 2 pieces of topiary were QUITE QUIRKY.  Above is a man shooting a QUARREL taken from his QUIVER into the Hare/Rabbit in the opposite hedge.  You can see it pierced this animals rump.

For the past 2 Monday’s I have taken my bird group out and these are a few photos I took of our autumn colours and mushrooms although it has been very mild weather still and you can see there are still a lot of green leaves on the trees.

Many thanks for visiting and also for all your comments.

  1. Love the funghi, and the reflections. I am not sure about the topiary. It is clever, but...

  2. Lovely autumn colours and reflection in the lake. The second mushroom looks like a face.

  3. Lovely photos - the pond is beautiful :) Great fungi pictures and I agree with Elephant's child comment on the topiary - it is unusual and clever but not keen on the theme! Have a lovely weekend.

  4. So lovely, all of them. Fall is there in Ireland.

  5. I agree with the others that a hunter shooting an animal wouldn't be my idea of a charming topiary, but I do admire the ability to create recognizable images in shrubbery. The shot in the garden is especially beautiful, as is the one of the pond.

  7. I always love seeing wild mushrooms. My favorite is the beautiful picture after the rabbit. The topiaries must have been thought up by hunters. They are really nice, but spoiled by people killing animals. I do love that jumping rabbit, and want to pull that arrow out of him. He must live to hop another day.

  19. I love the series of mushrooms - great shots. I would like the rabbit topiary in my yard, but without the arrow!
