Today I am showing you a traditional brigantine sailing
ship that is over 100 years old that I saw when I walked along our Bangor Pier
the other day. She is 132’ long, has a
8,000 sq ft sail area, has a steel hull, teak deck and can do approximately 8
knots. I hope you can read the 2 shots
of her history. Enjoy.

What a beautiful ship. I suspect the private charter doesn't come cheap, but what an amazing experience it would be.
ReplyDeleteI would love to go on a boat ride. Lovely shots! Thank you for linking with "Through My Lens".

What a beautiful elegant ship and so interesting to read of the history.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of this impressive ship! I am ready to sail, as soon as I get a second mortgage on my home!
ReplyDeleteThe ship is beautiful and still in use even more than 100 years old. It would be great to go on board to explore the ship.
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos. You caught the personality of the ship.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful shots - it would be fun to explore this boat!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful ship, and what fun it would be to sail on it.
ReplyDeleteThat is craftsmanship!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely ship!
ReplyDeleteHow I would love to charter such a ship ... but sadly, I get sea sick and wouldn't dare step foot on her. She is a beauty though ... have you ever been on a tall ship?

It is gorgeous! Your first picture should be framed and displayed. I see the ship does sail, yet the ropes look brand new. Wonder if they are just for display. Your picture of them is really great! Rope art!
ReplyDeleteYou did an excellent job of sharing this adventure with us. Very interesting, and a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteThe ship is gorgeous and fascinating.
