WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY - Mount Stewart Swallows

Last week I took the first 2 shots of these Swallows high up in the Portico at Mount Stewart House.  I could not work out exactly how many there were, I saw three then however on Sunday I was back again and there were 4 hungry mouths that the parents kept feeding.  The video at the end is better quality.

In another corner of the Portico were 2 House Martins building a nest.

Sorry about the quality of the stills but hope you enjoyed the video.

I am linking this post with WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.

Many thanks for visiting and also for all who leave comments.

I'm back from two weeks in Europe! Lots of photos but no time to write new blogs. I'll rely on the ones written and scheduled before the trip. Big move happens in 6 days!

  6. They do build amazing nests. I try to keep them off of my porch because they are so messy, but they have nests twenty feet away on my husband's shop..I like to watch them coming and going..poor parents surely must get tired!

  8. We use to have swallows in our horse barn, and I always liked seeing them around. They are masters of flight.

  17. I love the video of the birds - how cute. It is interesting that their nest seems to be mostly mud, as I always thought birds nests were made from twigs.
