Today I am linking this post with GOOD FENCES and this
is an image of a Kookaburra a friend of mine, Eddie at Mount Glorious just west of Brisbane about two years ago. His family were having lunch on the deck of a local restaurant when this
character suddenly perched on the fence near Brooke. Apparently he turns up at
the same time each day and waits.
WARNING! Tomorrow prepare yourselves! If any of you get sea sick, look out although we are not going on a boat, I fear it may be a ROUGH ride for some!
Many thanks Eddie for the photograph.
Many thanks for visiting and also to all who leave comments.
He is a big boy with a big beak! He actually looks bigger than some of the hawks around here. I have heard them laugh on T.V. You have me very intrigued about your next post! I love coming to visit my puffin every day!
ReplyDeleteGinny so glad the Puffin brings you joy every morning. I can imitate their laugh and I did it a few times when i was giving a leature adn they thought it was hilarious.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kookaburra, watching.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of a really nice looking bird. I remember the song "Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree...."
ReplyDeleteA dapper fellow. He seems much too sophisticated to be the source of that loud, raucous call. I'd love to see them--- and all of the other many birds of Oz.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour of the fence in your photo and the kookaburra looks so happy sitting there.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
