Birds in Johannesburg, South Africa

Apart from the Southern Masked Weaver below that i shot at the nearby lake, the rest were photographed as I walked around the gated area where my friends live in Johannesburg, South Africa.

  4. Hello Margaret!:) You always see such pretty birds on your travels. The Southern Masked Weaver is lovely. The mask makes for an easy ID, but from the back it almost resembles a greenfinch. The Cape Robin Chat is cute!:)

  5. The Southern Masked Weaver is a colorful bird with the golden feathers, and I like the black mask, it gives the bird such character. The Karoo thrush has a posture that reminds me of the American Robins that like to hunt in my yard in the summer. You get to be in such warm places in my winter, Margaret!
