These
photographs were shot from Lufupa Conservation Lodge and the Hippos were on the
other side of the lake quite a distance away however I thought you would like to see them and the video at the end.

It was so relaxing a peaceful at the lodge and in fact other than 2 men who were there to protect the place from poachers, we were the only ones. Bliss.

Many thanks for your visit and also to all those who leave comments.
It's hard to imagine hippos belong to the most dangerous animals in the world. We have seen them in The Kruger Park in South Africa, their appearance seems so friendly!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Margaret.
Absolutely fantastic to see and photograph these amazing hippos in the wild!
ReplyDeleteLike Marleen I find it hard to accept that hippos kill more people than any other animal (except our own species). They look so benign.

ReplyDeleteI really like Hippos! We have a rather weather beaten old Grey Hippo in this house - he is my daughter's special soft toy. He is called, with startling clarity and not much imagination "Hippo".

Interesting...we just watched a show about hippos. Actually about hippos and lions, and it said that hippos kill more people than lions do.
ReplyDeleteCool shots, Margaret. What great beasts!
