This
is the penultimate post from the Rathlin Island series and in it I am showing you a variety of Critters I found that day on the island. Below is a Linnet, followed by cows and sheep I saw from the bus on my way to The Stacks at the West Lighthouse.
There were quite a number of Meadow
Pipit and this Pigeon
below was actually at The Stacks.
The
bus man was a real laugh and when we arrived at The Stacks,
he
turned into a 'human' Puffin! The 6 images below are real Puffins.
Fulmer above and Kittiwake with chicks below.
Donkeys
and more cows.
This
looks quite an old dog and was on the crossing back to the mainland.
I have a short video to show you. CLICK HERE if it does not appear below.
I
hope you enjoyed this post and I thank you for visiting.
I am linking this post with SATURDAY CRITTERS.
Many thanks to all who leave comments.
Love the colour on the linnet. For some idea I had always thought it was a drab bird - and am happy to be wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe puffins are always a joy.
Thank you.
Never seen a Linnet. I may have but doubt even I could confuse it with anything else.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really colourful Linnet Margaret. I hope Linnets are doing OK in Ireland because over here they are still in decline. used to see big autumn flocks, but no longer.
ReplyDeleteRatlin looks like a very special place for birding, Margaret! such a great variety, especially the puffins! Not to mention a strange puffin man variation!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fascinating place to visit! Imagine seeing live Puffins in their habitat! They always seem like charicatures of birds to me, so much personality I'm surprised how loud the Guillemots were in the video. That black above, white below camouflage must work really well in the ocean.
ReplyDeleteHello Margaret, what a great critters post. A nice variety of birds and animals. The Linnet has pretty colors. And the Puffins are a favorite. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love the Linnet and Meadow Pipit. Also all the puffins (even the human one!) and kittiwake and chicks. Love the old poochie. Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteFab shot of the Linnet. They never stay still for me.
ReplyDeleteWell done our kid!
All super images Margaret but the puffins were a real treat I've never seen them in person so the video was excellent, merci beaucoup.
