These are a few wild birds I saw in and outside Castle
Espie last week when I took my bird group there. Also at the bottom the video I forgot to post yesterday!
Little Egret above and the view from a very old stone
hide below. The tide was going out however were managed to see numerous Shelduck, Pale bellied Brent geese, Redshank, Dunlin, Oystercatcher, Curlew and Black tailed Godwit.
Chaffinch above and Gadwall below.
Black headed Gull with its breeding plumage.
Robin
above and Shoveler below.
I hope you enjoyed seeing these birds.

ReplyDeleteHi Margaret.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of the birds, the Gadwall and Robin are great.
Now see the video well, and it's beautiful
Best regards, Irma
Beautiful birds! i love the little robin. Your fields are looking so green.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I really love the European robin's looks. So cute!
ReplyDeleteThe Gadwell's feathers remind me of psychedelic prints from the 60s. hee hee. Beautiful photos, Margaret. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI think Egrets are one of my favourite birds. They set the pulse racing!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Margaret. But it's the stone hide that has got me curious, especially judging from the teaser image in the post.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful selection!!!!
ReplyDeletelovely shots! great detail on the gadwall!
ReplyDeleteThe Gadwall has such pretty swirls in its feathers! All the ducks have pretty plumage, I'm rather partial to ducks as domestic fowl. I wish I had the courage to raise Guinea hens, they seem like fascinating fowl, and very handy getting rid of insects. The European Robin seems so little and delicate compared to the American Robin.
ReplyDeleteOh my that is a cute bird in the Robin family, as are all your lovely photos, very delightful to view.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the birds you see! Nice photos, Margaret!!
ReplyDeleteLove all them, you are fantastic birder.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret, I always love seeing your Robin!
ReplyDeleteLove them all but favored the Gadwall, Black Headed Gull and the Shoveler.
ReplyDeleteThe birds are always a pleasure to see.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the Gadwall and his beautiful feather pattern. And the gull. I love the way his tail feathers cross into an X. Plus with that black hood, he looks ready to rob a bank. Well, Gulls ARE bold.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection of images.
ReplyDeleteThe Gadwall is such a nice duck. Your images are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of all the birds. I especially like the Black-headed Gull - it looks so smart in its black and white plumage.
ReplyDeleteLove the markings on the Gadwall and the cheeky robin with the skinny legs. Those birds were pretty unperturbed by you filming them! You always remind me that I should take more video it really adds to your posts and I always admire them, both the content and the technology!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
