Now I did warn you yesterday, that one of my shots was “out of the
box” and here it is below. I personally think
that this is a brilliant fence that can keep not only eggs safe but the chicks are surrounded by a wonderfully woven and comfortable nest. See yesterday's post to see a VIDEO of how the Weaver bird builds this nest.
All
the shots were photographed at the Makuzi Beach Lodge.
I hope you enjoyed this post and there will be more footage of the Weaver bird building its nest on Saturday's Critters.
Thank you for visiting and also to those who leave comments.

I find the nest of the Weaver bird a really clever design. I don't normally find nests interesting but three species fascinate me the Goldcrest, Long Tailed Tits and Weaver birds.
ReplyDeleteWith every photo you post, I want to go there more! That nest is simply amazing, too. blessings ~ tanna

What a facinating nest the weaverbird makes. It's indeed an out-of-the box fencing but it works. Also loved the stone walls in the shots and that great walkway made of the stones. This looks like a wonderful place to visit.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a fence. A fence to protect the inhabitants from the dangers of the outside world...
