    Is it carried on the head because her other hand is holding something? I wonder why so many do it this way.

    Iconic photo. I thought the water level in Lake Malawi was down moving the shore further away. Is this true?

    I suppose if you get used to carrying things this way, it becomes routine. I'm not sure I could learn to do that. Interesting photo! Happy New Year to you!
