WEEKEND REFLECTIONS- Warthog in Malawi and FRIDAY'S HUNT

These shots of the Warthog were taken after Judith and I left the boat on the River Shire, Malawi.  We found a tall hide overlooking this small waterhole.

For Friday’s Hunt the prompts are D, Favourite and Beautiful.

All these photographs we taken in Malawi THIS year. D is for my family’s new dog named Toto however I think all three photographs are beautiful and so I am leaving you to choose a favourite!  The bird is a African Firefinch.

I am linking this post with WEEKEND REFLECTIONS & FRIDAY'S HUNT.

Many thanks for your visit and also to all those people who leave comments.

  10. I always wonder if animals know they're looking at themselves??! Probably not, but it makes me chuckle to think about it!

  14. Love the pictures. When my son was born I called him my little warthog because he was snorting instead of crying! Toto is adorable :)

  21. Wow...that is a very cool wart hog? Is that the same as a wild boar? My husband and sons both have wild boar trophies that look a lot like that guy! That bird is gorgeous and those flowers also! Great photos!

  29. The warthog is not something I'd like to meet up with on a hike, an unusual and scary looking beast.

  30. I'm glad you combine, Margaret, or I wouldn't have seen the warthog pictures. I've never seen one that I can remember of. Thank you.
Your dog named Toto is my favorite vote, all around. We had a little dog named Toto, she was half Dachshund and them some more smaller type other half. A very nice little dog that as an escaped puppy begged Mrs. Jim and our daughter, then preschool, to be adopted. Our later dog, Katrin, a small French Toy Poodle, looked more like yours. She was an adult, belonging to our friend who died.

We have visited N.Z. and Australia, including Tasmania on a Princess cruise. I'd liked to have heard one of your lectures. We won't ever visit Malawi though we have been to Egypt. Also Ireland, but stopped driving up before hitting North Ireland. Have you been to the Isle of Man? We love it, my mother's family were Manx and the line has been traced. I don't have that anymore if I had, but they Google (John Corkhill--with or without an "h").
TMI again (I'm sorry), but I love your travel animal pictures.

    1. HI Jim MAny thanks for the comment and i am so glad you saw the shots of the Warthog. Actually, I am always going to put Friday's Hunt with weekend reflections and post it on (my Friday). I have been to the I.O.M formy first flight when I was 9-10 years old. Athough we used to own an old converted fishig boat and the first weekend we had it, we took it over to the I.O.M.

  33. Each Friday Hunt photo is beautiful in its own right. I didn't realize warthogs are quite handsome. Some women would envy that reddish brown hair color.

  34. The warthog is certainly an interesting animal; kind of an 'only a mother could love' sort of a one. What an amazing world we live in -- and you have seen so much of it! That is a beautiful bird.

  35. I have never seen a Warthog, but I feel like I have now. What an interesting animal. You photos are wonderful and show me such vivid detail. You are going to need to watch Toto because he may be of the bloodline what will have him trying to get back to Kansas. Thanks for your visit and comment about my silly making a snow angel. The falling was easy...how I got up was a struggle. And Bud could not help because he was taking the photos. That face plant was COLD.

  36. That warthog is terrifying. I wouldn't want to run into that!

    The dog is absolutely adorable.

  37. Toto is pretty cute and looks as if he is hiding behind his bangs. Pretty close to that warthog. I have heard that they are pretty aggressive.
