These are the last of my Crocodile photographs as I
walked along the River Shire at N’gone Lodge, Malawi in 2014. I am also joining Friday's Hunt this week and all the photographs of Crocodiles below are my entry for OUTSIDE.
My next word for Friday's Hunt is BODY.
Ah! I know you all thought it was bird. Well it
could be. I received this shot from a friend while I was sitting in Nairobi this
week waiting for my flight to Heathrow. I
think it is amazing and I give all credit to the artist named below. Read
below. Now can you work it out?
IT'S
NOT A BIRD.
This parrot is in fact
a female model who posed for Johannes
Stötter, a fine art body
painter. Using breathable paint, he spent hours painstakingly
turning this woman into the image of a parrot, brushstroke
by brushstroke. The model's arm forms the parrot's head
and beak, and her legs form the wing and tail feathers.
Remember:
always take a closer look as things aren't always
what
they appear to be. Once you see her, the bird
disappears.
My last word for Friday's Hunt is FAVOURITE.
This
photograph of my family, who had the head on car in December was taken just
before I left Blantyre, Malawi this week. I wanted to share it with you as a
big THANK YOU for all of you who prayed and thought about them for a speedy
recovery. As you can see, those prayers
have been answered. Thank you Lord.
I hope you have
enjoyed this weeks’ shots of birds and Crocodiles along
the River Shire as well as my Friday's Hunt.
I am linking this post with SATURDAY CRITTERS and FRIDAY'S HUNT.
Many
thanks for your visit and also to all those people who leave comments.
The crocodile is near the top of animals I would least like to encounter. Amazing body painting of the bird and an object lesson that not all we see is what we think we see.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad your family has recovered, not blogging at the time, I did not know the crisis you were all in. Thank the Lord indeed!
I am very, very glad that the crocodiles ARE outside. Not a house guest to welcome.
ReplyDeleteI had seen that body painting before. Amazing isn't it? And it doesn't look like a comfortable post.
It is truly wonderful that your family recovered so well.
I always enjoy seeing a crocodile.
ReplyDeleteThose Crocs are big critters alright.

Wow it seems to me that the crocs are too close for comfort!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see prayer answered for your dear family, Margaret!
That makes me think of Superman.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman
It´s best to view the crocs from a safe distance. Great shots, Margaret.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice for a speedy recovery of your family. The Crocs photos are very cool. The painting is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh, I did not know your family had been in an accident. We were traveling in December and I missed a lot. Thank Heavens for their full recovery! That "parrot" is mind boggling. That is a lot of crocodiles!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, an accident? This is the first I heard of it....hope they all continue with a full recovery!!!! Oh my gosh!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have alligators here, but your crocodile photos are incredible. Look at those teeth!!! My favorite happens to be the one of the outcropping of rocks with a barely visible croc on the boulder.
Oh my gosh, that's incredible!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in, Margaret. You have a beautiful family! I'm so glad they are well. Those crocodile images are stunning! What a beautiful place. I have to admit. I totally saw the bird and not the body until you pointed it out. That is amazing!

ReplyDeleteYou must have so many wonderful memories of your visits to Malawi and with the photos to bring those memories to mind any time you want. That body painting is astounding. Had me fooled.
ReplyDeleteThose crocodiles look so aggressive, don't they! And I love that little redhead!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad she wasn't painted up to look like a crocodile! Really, that is amazing.
ReplyDeletethe crocs are amazing. glad your family is so well.
ReplyDeleteGlad your family is doing well from the accident that sounds awful. and the "parrot" is super cool what patience that musta took. And I'd love to see crocodiles one day...from far away ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see your family, and in perfect health. I've seen paintings done like this, using a human body (online). But I saw bird, first! You got me on this one. What an interesting art form.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen wild crocodiles in person. What a peaceful place they live in!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see your family recovered so well. It must have been scared.
Have a good day.
I liked seeing those crocodiles, Margaret. We don't have them here, only alligators. Mostly they stay in their ponds in parks and golf courses. A few hungry ones come to houses. Oh yes, nice trying to hide the lady. She came through nicely.
ReplyDelete..
That painting is remarkable. I hope to see some crocks when I go up to Darwin later in the year.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
The crocodiles don't look very inviting, lol ! What a nice family picture !
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the family, glad they are all okay. :) That "bird" is amazing! It took me a minute to see the woman but when I did, you were right, the bird goes away!
ReplyDeleteGood to see your family is as happy as the crocodile family!
ReplyDelete~
I've seen the various birds that models create on Face Book but had to go back and confirm that you said this was not a parrot - very well done.
ReplyDeleteOMG, the parrot woman is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI saw the leg first, then worked my way up to find the rest of her body. Amazing! Crocodiles seem like they're always smiling. Cheers to your family!
