WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY - Birds at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight

Last time I was on the Isle of Wight, I visited Yarmouth and these are some of the birds I saw there. I didn't know until I looked at the photos at home that there were 2 Mediterranean Gulls among the Black headed gulls.  See if you can find them!

Teal – Male

Teal – Female

Black tailed Godwit, Dunlin, Black headed and 2 Mediterranean Gulls
There are 3 gulls in a line to the left of the shot and the one to the back is a Mediterranean Gull.

The Mediterranean Gull is top left of the image

See if you can find the Mediterranean Gull in this image.

Shoveler with Coot and  Black headed Gull.

Mute Swan

I have a video of the waders and you can see if you can spot all the birds I mentioned above.

CLICK HERE if the video does not appear below.

I hope you enjoyed this post and tomorrow Iwill have some more images from Yarmouth for you,

  3. It's a while since I've been to the Isle of Wight - we took our tiny boat over there in the summer of 2008. Your delightful accounts of your visit are inspiring me to return, Margaret!

  5. Hi Margaret, Med Gulls in summer Plumage are magnificent. The sooty mask and the lack of black at the tips of the primaries are the give aways.

  9. I've never seen a teal, crazily enough.

The med gull has a sort of smudge directly behind the eye, rather than a more curved dark patch over the ear?
