WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY - BIrds at Pottery Lodge, Malawi

These are some of the birds I found when you were staying at the Pottery Lodge in Malawi.  It was quiet, peaceful and we were the only ones there.  Perfect .

Wire tailed Swallow

These 2 little houses is where we stayed for 3 days and as you can see it is right on the beach and was very comfortable.   The girls were in one and the boys next door.

Imagine having this whole beach to yourself.

Masked Weaver

Hen with heavily disguised chicks

Pied Crow

While Judith, Daniel and Annika were painting the pots they had thrown the previous day at the Potteries, I spied above them, this little nest of Swallows.  I didn’t have time to up load my video clips of it for today so I will probably show that next WBW.

A few waders on the beach however I am not totally sure what they are.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these few birds.  I will showing you more from this place of Malawi over the next few days so I hope you will pop in again.

I am linking this post with WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.

Thank you for visiting today.

Many thanks for all those people who leave comments.

  1. This is really great, Margaret.
Super to stay as on the beach in a cottage.
Beautiful photos of the Swallows, the last two pictures, I do not know exactly what kind it is.
Can not see well, but I think of the Rosse Godwit.
    Best regards, Irma

  11. Goodness, a wild hen!!! It IS wild, yes? I have never seen such a thing, and she looks quite fat for being on her own. the beach is totally lovely, wonder why it is deserted? Perhaps it was cold that day. Wire Tailed Swallow, another new one for me. Funny name.
