ALL these shots below were taken on my way home from church
on Sunday as I drove the car along Seacliffe Road in my own home of Bangor. I also saw, not 1 but 2 RNLI Lifeboats speedy
across the rough seas.
Black
headed Gull
Common
Gull
This
was the first Lifeboat I saw and the shot below shows the second ( far right)
Redshank
Turnstone
Then
I saw this group of birds further along the road.
There are Dark bellied Brent, Redshank, Oystercatcher, Turnstone, Black
headed Gull and Herring Gull. The following shots below are close ups of these birds.
I hope you enjoyed seeing these Gulls, Waders and
geese in this post.
I
am linking this post with WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY
Thanks
you for visiting.
Many
thanks for leaving comments on my post.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of these birds, Margaret.
The lifeboat is struggling with the storm.
Best regards, Irma
The name "Seacliffe Rd" tells a story Margaret and how nice to see it living up to the promise the name implies. You have a lovely selection of birds there, a good mixture and all feeding close together. It must be nice to have regular and close sightings of Brent Geese in particular, here we just see the odd one or two
ReplyDeleteNice collections of birds.. The Brant is a handsome goose. Great photos, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful... and I can almost smell the seas... blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI hope all was well with the "Coasties" as we call them here. Out Coast Guard goes out in some of the nastiest weather in boats such as yours.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of gulls.
Those are beautiful birds. Good captures!
ReplyDeleteA great variety of birds. Love the Coast Guard boat out there on the choppy water.
ReplyDeleteYour Brents are much paler than ours...................
ReplyDeleteA nice bunch of shots of birds, all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAlways remember how Brighton was devoid of anything other than immature gulls when I used to visit. Lovely selection of birds there.
ReplyDeleteI like Brent geese they're so handsome, I am a bit jealous of the number of marauding Redshank
ReplyDeletea great mix of shorebirds!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly look like they are braving the cold.
ReplyDeleteSome lovely captures of your home birds!
I must say I enjoyed the photo of the lifeboat on the choppy waters - well done!
My goodness, you have so many birds along your shore even at this time of year. What a nice drive home you had ... nice that you don't have to go far to get shots of so many different birds. I am so shut in with the bitter cold, that I can't get anywhere to take pictures of the few birds that brave our weather. Looks refreshing and beautiful. Hope whoever the life boats were going to assist are okay. Have a great week, Margaret. Enjoyed this post ...

Gorgeous shorebirds! And dramatic shot of the lifeboat on the waves. Beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a beautiful ride home! Such a great variety of birds.
ReplyDeleteNice lot of birds you have.
ReplyDeleteLove the birds, huddled into their feathers. And hope that the lifeboats were on practice duty. Or had a successful mission.
ReplyDeleteA super looking Common Gull and love the Brents.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was an interesting drive home from church. I'm glad you had your camera at your side.
ReplyDeleteThe black headed gull does not have a black head s I assume these are females? I LOVE that red tugboat on the choppy sea, what a beautiful and exciting sight!!
ReplyDeleteLove the Turnstones, and also the Brents. Well taken Margaret.
ReplyDeleteI hope those RNLI boats did their job.
ReplyDeletepeter
so many beautiful birds. And my world is almost empty of them. Still takes another 2 months before they start coming back.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret, so nice to enjoy the delights your drive home offered! What a great place in which to live :D)
ReplyDeleteA nice collection and a good route to have available locally Margaret. I have to get the book out for most of the waders.
ReplyDeleteLovely shore birds, my favorite place!!
ReplyDeleteSuper birds you got there Margaret and I also like the shot of the lifeboat. I wonder what it felt like racing over those waves?
ReplyDeleteYour water is looking choppy, no wonder those gorgeous gulls are all puffed up! Seacliffe Road looks a good spot to find lots of birds. Thanks for your visit, your suggestion that I work for the Australian Tourist Board made my day!
ReplyDeleteWren x
Lovely assortment of bird shots!
ReplyDeleteYou sure have a lovely ride home from church along the water's edge and mine is all out in horse country. Your images are all really lovely. All of the waterbirds would be such a fun thing to see and I imagine the air is cold upon your face as you photograph during these Winter months. Blessings~
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be able to see so many birds along the shore where you live. Great shot of the lifeboat too.
ReplyDeleteRegards.
Nice shots of all the different birds existing together.

Beautiful collection of shore birds!
ReplyDeleteWow - these are amazing birds. I love all the different shorebirds. In our area we don't find nearly as many as our coastline here in NW Washington is often rocky and without lots of beaches.
