My son in law,Jon who was born in South Africa, took my
daughter and their family on an adventurous journey from Malawi through as many
countries as they could, to reach Johannesburg to spend Christmas with all his
other cousins. The
first 5 photographs were when they were up close and personal with the wildlife
at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
I’d
say, you couldn’t get much closer to an Elephant than that!
Jon,
Judith, Annika and Daniel.
What
a view. Do you notice Daniel and Annika
in the pool?
Can
I have some peanuts please?
PLEASE!
Daniel saves the day. Those are my grandson Daniels’ hand
throwing peanuts into the Elephants mouth.
These last 2 shots were taken last Saturday, on the first weekend my family arrived
home to Malawi. They drove up Ndirande,
one of the three big peaks that surround Blantyre. That is Annika my granddaughter. Notice no shoes!
This
is a panoramic shot of the area.
I
hope you enjoyed these photographs taken by Jon (Thanks you Jon).
Thank
for visiting and also to those who leave comments
Oh what wonderful memories for Jon's family. I love the close-ups of the elephants. I remember these at Vic Falls only took photos of them from the dirt road. My son, John, drives his family up through several countries from SA to Mozambique. What a life for our grands, Margaret? Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteWe visited the Elephnat Wallow some years ago. A great experience to come so close to them. We also made a ride over there, It is a good initiative to raise elephant orphans in order to release them when they are ready for it. You probably have seen pictures of a cheetah and wardhogs aswell. Also these animals we could approach quite well.
