Blessingbourne House Costume Collection

When I visited Blessingbourne House several months ago, I discovered they had a small Costume Museum and today I will show you the photographs I took of them.  Robert Lowry, who was the previously owner of Blessingbourne House since 1964 and is the father of Nick who now lives there with Colleen, his wife for the past 8 years, assembled the collection last year, mainly from family heirlooms.  I hope you find these costumes interesting and  I photographed what they were for better understanding.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the collection of memorabilia from Blessingbourne House.  Nick and Colleen also have a Carriage Museum which I will show you at a later date.

Yesterday was the first day I have seen rain here in Malawi and I it reminded me of home in Northern Ireland!   Everything is quite brown here now although the main rains do not come until December.

Thank you for visiting and especially to those people who continue to look at my posts and comment when I am away on holidays in Malawi and know I cannot comment on there posts due to Internet connection and time.  In fact we had not power last night and this morning but this is Africa and I love it.

  3. They are all in extremely good shape and really look never worn!! How awesome that they are being shown and preserved this way instead of packed in moth balls. Bravo to them!!!
