Christmas in Belfast Centre

I just thought I would show you some Christmas lights in Belfast.  As I was walking to the Victoria centre, I spotted these statues.  They were brilliant especially when I realised they where real people.  They never moved a muscle.

I was taking 14 people to see the Nutcracker ballet which was being video linked from the Royal Opera House, Covent Gardens, London, not only to Belfast but to 30 countries around the world.  It was a wonderful way to start Christmas with friends and below are some of the decorations in the centre. Enjoy and have a good day/evening.

This centre has a fantastic dome and someday I will show you it and the view of Belfast from the top.

We have a Carol service to attend tonight and then there are 50 people 'droppping' in afterwards, so I better get on and help the family with the preparations!!!

Thank you for visiting and for anyone who left comments , a big "thanks".

  4. Beautiful pictures Margaret, especially the first one I find very beautiful.
They are like statues, but these people really live.

I wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a very healthy 2014.
    Greetings Irma

  5. So fun to see this Margaret, and this Royal Opera House looks like a very amazing place to visit. I loved seeing these mimes, and aren't they just incredible. did they give you a smile if you left them some money?? I saw quite a few of these last time I was Italy, but rarely see them in the US, at least in my part of the world. Glad you had a wonderful time seeing the nutcracker, and really adds to the Christmas festivities!

  7. impressive decorations and those human statues are absolutely stunning-I love them, Avignon is usually dotted with some all year round, sometimes they move when I put money in their hats..a finger or a slight smile.

  13. The people are amazing, they must all be spray painted. Is this the inside of the Opera House? WOW! The lighted spiral, is it steps? The trees are beautiful!!

  14. Nutcracker is perfect Christmas entertainment as far as I'm concerned. My daughter danced in it for a few years while she was taking ballet. The 'statues' are amazing.
