Thank you for visiting and leaving comments.
The teals and the kingfisher are gorgeous!!! We watched a kingfisher fish once, incredible! The Carrion Crow also interests me! I thought there were only regular crows and ravens. So i am off to Google him now!
ReplyDeleteThe Carrion Crow is one of the smartest birds there is! I also remember the hooded crow now that I think about it.
ReplyDeleteHI Ginny In Northern Ireland the Carrion Crow is pretty scarce as we have mostly Hooded Crows whereas in England including the I.O.W. they have the Carrion Crows but NO Hooded Crows!
DeleteHI Ginny Gald you liked the Teal and Kingfisher. Crow is the family name and in the UK there are Rook.Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Hooded Crow, Magie. Jay, Chough and Raven in that family. Most people on seeing a large black bird just think it is a Crow however as you can see that would not be totally correct.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful place! Wonderful photos. And it's nice to see the green grass. Everything is brown here, although now it's white from the recent snowfall.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne I would say white is better than brown! Glad you liked theplace and birds and thanks for your comments.
ReplyDeleteGreat birds and a wonderful outing , Margaret! The Lapwings and the Pied Wagtail are my favorites. I would love to see both of them sometime. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeletethe lapwings are really quirky- a nice mix of birds; I love the pied wagtail too Margaret
ReplyDeleteThat's really an aggressive male, and yes I saw the grebe after thinking I must have missed it earlier in the clip. What a large Gurgulation of Godwits!
ReplyDeleteHI Kenneth Yes I agree however they are looking for mates and perhaps he is trying his best to fight off the competition. Now I have heard of the collective nouns for Godwits being omniscience, partheon and prayer but never gurgulation! Couldn't find it on a search either. sounds a great word and thanks for comment.
DeleteA bounty of birds here, Margaret! I wish I'd seen the Teal and Widgeon when I lived in the UK, as they are truly beautiful ducks. I saw plenty of Wagtails though and miss those friendly little birds!
ReplyDeleteHI Christian well there is only 1 answer to that, you will have eto come back adn see us!! Glad you liked this post and thanks for comment.
DeleteThe wagtail. Another great bird name!
ReplyDeletethe wigeons are so handsome. i love the wagtails and lapwings, too.
ReplyDeleteYou captured some lovely shots of a variety of birds in this post. Your kingfisher has different coloring than ours. It's very pretty. Love the colors in the teal and widgeon.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a Lapwing live, I think its his head feathers- wonderful variety and shots!
ReplyDeleteLove it. And the canal is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you got a pic of a Kingfisher! Congratulations! Love the Lapwings, all of them actually....lovely post margaret.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all of these photos you got on your return to Yarmouth. All of them are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of your bird…. Love the Wagtail, and of course, the Kingfisher…
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Christmas.
Hugs,
Betsy
Lovely photos of a great selection of birds. Well done on the Kingfisher :)
ReplyDeleteReally nice birds:) It's weird......opposite but the same. That gull looks similar to our Bonaparte's! The only difference is the orange-y tones! And your Eurasions are orange instead of green:) Cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great lineup! All of them are great. I especially liked the coloring of the Kingfisher.
